Resumen:
A metallurgical model of the annealing process was presented, where recovery, recrystallization and precipitation of NbC, and their interactions are taken into account. The model has as inputs the amount of cold reduction and the steel chemistry and gives as results the evolution of the dislocation density, the recrystallization and precipitation fractions. The final hardness can be straightforwardly calculated. Isothermal annealing were performed in cold rolled steel sheets with two contents of Nb in solid solution and compared to the model predictions. The model parameters were optimized to fit the experiment results, obtaining values that are reasonable well when compared to those obtained by other authors. Finally, the model was used to elucidate the role of cold deformation and Nb on recrystallization kinetic. This model is the first step for the development of a tool to predict the mechanical properties of annealed (batch or continuous) HSLA steel sheets.
