Resumen:
Patagonia is characterized by its historic relationship with southern landmasses and biota. Wood rotting fungi present a high proportion of endemic and austral taxa that reflect those relationships and its isolated history with regard to the rest of South America. Nevertheless, in the past years the number of these taxa that are also present in the Neotropics is increasing, due to collecting efforts by mycologists in different countries of South America. We present examples of polypore and corticioid fungi that show this situation, with data supported on morphology, compatibility and/or molecular phylogenetic analyses. The distribution of fungi reflect that of the vascular flora, and might present similar generalized tracks as shown by panbiogeographic studies.
