Resumen:
The objective of this work was know the asociation of the seroprevalence to Neospora caninum in buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) by age and breed in ranches of argentine northeast. Neospora caninum is a protozoo responsible of reproductives losses in bovines around the world having found his presence in cattles for meat and milk of the country. The exploitation of buffaloes in our country has increased in the last years estimated their population in approximately 100.000 animals located mainly in the provinces of argentine northeast. Were sampled three ranches in the province of Corrientes and two in the province of Chaco, in total 1693 females of 2 to 20 years old. The blood was obtained for puncture of the jugular vein and the sera were processed through indirect immunofluorescence for the antibody detection of N. caninum, seen as positive a title of 1:100. Were positives the 41% of the animals, were divided in four groups by age, ≤3, 4-5, 6-7 and >8 years old. The probability that the animals are seropositives is increases a 15% each year in this research, as to breed no differences were found. All the ranches presented seropositive animals and is that the age is a important factor that contributes at serological status to N. caninum
