Resumen:
In this present paper I deal with the impact that the model offered contemporarily by the Chinese Kuo-Min-Tang had on the configuration of the Alianza Popular Revolucionaria Americana (APRA), originated in Peru as one of the first and more vigorous populist movements of the continent. Anti-imperialist movements in Asia and Africa as the one led by Abd-el-Krim in Morocco and especially as the one that emerged in China, left an important impression in the intellectual imagination of the APRA´s leader Haya de la Torre, who was enthusiastically inspired by them when he sought to gave to the APRA a nationalist-populist profile. Haya went so far as to proclaim that Aprismo was destined to become the "Latin American Kuo-Min-Tang". As I will argue, the inception of a nationalist and revolutionary rhetoric took place within the discourse of Haya since he established contacts with referents of this Chinese movement.
