Differences in platelet size according to the type of treatment in myeloproliferative neoplasms: their effect on proplatelet morphology.

Large platelets are more reactive and associated to thrombosis in some pathological conditions. Previously, we demonstrated increased maximum platelet diameter in patients with Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) treated with anagrelide (ANA), α-interferon (αIFN), or ruxolitinib (Ruxo), while decreased in those with hydroxyurea (HU). Here, we extended the study to 75 MPN patients. All subjects signed the informed consent.
