Resumen:
The relationship between humans and guanacos (Lama guanicoe) have been a recurrent issue in zooarchaeology researches in the Extra-Andean Patagonia. These allowed us to comprehend a wide range of ways of interacting and use of these resources by the hunter-gatherer societies in the past. For this purpose, we analyzed the bone specimens of the assemblages from the North Chamber of Cueva Maripe site. It is located in the headwaters of the basin of Zanjones Rojo and Blanco in the northeast of the Central Plateau (Santa Cruz province, Argentina) (Figure 1) in which were registered human occupations since Pleistocene-Holocene transition to recent time. The site was understood as multiple activity site in the different moment of occupation. (Miotti et al. 2007;Hermo 2008; Carden 2009; Marchionni 2013).The main goals proposed for this work were:-To identify the ways in which the carcasses of guanaco were processed in different moments of the occupation of Cueva Maripe site, analyzing and identifying cut mark patterns.-To discuss our results in relation with the results obtain in another Patagonian sites to evaluate regional and temporal variability according to the butchering activities identified in this site
