Resumen:
Bladder cancer (BCa) is one of the most common tumors of the male urogenital tract and an important cause of death. The treatment of the invasive tumor is radical cystectomy. Currently, to improve the patient?s standard of living, conservative surgery is proposed followed by chemo (CT) and radiotherapy. Cancer Stem Cells (CSC) are a minority cell population associated with the lack of treatment response, so their quantification and identification are of special interest. Lab on a Chip (LOC) systems, have surged in the last decade as a powerful tool for individual cells study, with the benefit of using a low amount of biological samples. Objective: Evaluate the presence, pluripotenciality and tumorigenic capacity of CSC in an invasive BCA cell line MB49-I post-treatment with CT agents, in macro culture conditions and in LOC systems.
