Ischemia-reperfusion (IR) is the main cause of acute kidney injury (AKI). The epithelial-mesenchymal transition (TEM) is a key process in the pathogenesis of AKI. Via AT2R receptor, angiotensin II,promotes vasodilatory, anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic actions and participates in tissue repair. Its role in renal IR is not known. Our aim was to characterize the evolution of renal IR damageand to study the effects of pre-treatment with C21, an AT2R agonist. Male Wistar rats (n=6 per group) were subjected to 40 min of unilateral renal ischemia followed by 1 (I1) or 7 (I7) days of reperfusion. Controls underwent sham operation.Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) was reduced in I1 (-50%, p
