This work presents the development and first experiences in a course of design of digital and analogintegrated circuits using a CMOS process in a country and university which does not have a strong tradition on microelectronics. During the first two months, lectures are given on the topics of the course, leaving the last months to work on a design project, which is fabricated. The course ends when students characterize the functionality of their circuits.
