Resumen:
Shadows of an absent partner: accumulation of the SPF1 P5 The P5 are the least known of P-ATPases. A definite transported ion substrate has not yet been identified.  However the function of the P5-ATPases is essential for the correct function of eukaryotic cells and they have been shown to influence protein biogenesis, folding and transport. The P5-ATPases have been classified in P5A and P5B based on sequence comparisons.   In Saccharomyces cerevisiae two genes code for P5-ATPases, one coding the P5A ATPase Spf1 and the other the P5B ATPase yPK9. Here we have advanced the biochemical characterization of the recombinant Spf1.
