Resumen:
A few days after being reelected, CristinaFernández de Kirchner?s government began taking actions to mitigate the flightof capital. Among them, it declaredthe prohibition ofpurchasing dollars for saving. This decision was seen asanother evidences thatArgentina wasin crisis. Protestsagainst the government soon arrived. However, unlike 2001, there was a strongdebate on whether the country was in crisis.  In this presentation I willfocus on the way some middle-classes groups constructed the idea of crisiscentered on the prohibition of getting dollars for saving in the formal market. My argument is that this crisis cannot be explained by addressing the economy. It is necessary to comprehended the evidence considering class experience. Forthis middle-class sector, the impossibility of buying dollars impliedquestioning the way in which they construct forms of worth living. Governmentactions generated uncertainty on these groups that saw their way of livingthreatened. By "demonetarizing" the Dollar to investigate it as anobject of group differentiation, it is possible to appreciate how theimpossibility of treasuring implied a difficulty in the construction of classfrontiers and of social differentiation. Analyzing a moment of crisis in whichthe crisis is under discussion is illuminating. It helps to understand howpeople of flesh and blood build and live the crisis processes. It allowcomprehending the multiple temporalities and experiences embedded in group andclass experiences. The Argentine case framed in an international context allowsthe understanding and the uses of global crisis in the local level<!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face{font-family:"Cambria Math";panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4;mso-font-charset:0;mso-generic-font-family:roman;mso-font-pitch:variable;mso-font-signature:-536870145 1107305727 0 0 415 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal{mso-style-unhide:no;mso-style-qformat:yes;mso-style-parent:"";margin:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;mso-pagination:widow-orphan;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";}.MsoChpDefault{mso-style-type:export-only;mso-default-props:yes;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri;mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman";mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;mso-ansi-language:ES-TRAD;mso-fareast-language:EN-US;}@page WordSection1{size:612.0pt 792.0pt;margin:70.85pt 3.0cm 70.85pt 3.0cm;mso-header-margin:36.0pt;mso-footer-margin:36.0pt;mso-paper-source:0;}div.WordSection1{page:WordSection1;}-->
