Resumen:
Acinetobacter species has been classified as one of themost dangerous nosocomial pathogens in the world.Nowadays, several studies have focused on the analysis ofthe adaptation capacity of this pathogen under stressconditions. In this work, we have studied the molecularmechanisms, associated to environmental adaption, ofairborne Acinetobacter sp. 5-2Ac.02 (close to A.towneriispecies; Genbank-Accesion-Number MKQS00000000).Founding an overexpression of several genes involved instress response under Mitomicin C presesnce; and theactivation of an acetoin degradation cluster, in the presenceof signals from the Quorum network. This cluster lacks, inthis strain, one of its transcriptional regulators. Interestingly,Acinetobacter sp. 5-2Ac02 strain showed its importantcapacity of degradation of the acetoin (15mM)independently of the inhibition of the QS system bydarkness (Quorum network by light).
