Resumen:
Two varieties of pumpellyite in the Ñorquinco lake area, Alumine district, Northpatagonian Andes, have been studied. This mineral was found as infilling in millimetric veins with chlorite and epidote in the Colohuincul Complex, and as secondary product in the matrix of Tertiary volcanic rocks. The chemical characterization of this mineral is one of the keys to set up a prehnite-pumpellyite facies that affects the Upper Paleozoic basament to the Tertiary rocks in the area.
