Resumen:
The testimony of Petrarch?s glosses found in the margins of the manuscripts that were part of his personal library give us a privileged perspective: a writing that was not destined to be read by the public but rather destined to the privacy of his desk and his own meditation. In this paper, I will analyze the types of glosses that the poet left in the margins of Augustine of Hippo?s writings in order to further reflect upon the Humanist as a reader of the works of an early Christian writer. I will focus on five manuscripts: the Paris, BnF, Latin 2103 (It contains a miscellany of works on grace and free will and the Soliloquia); the Paris, BnF, Latin 2201 (It contains De Vera Religione); the Paris, BnF, Latin 1994 (It contains the last fifty psalms of Enarrationes in Psalmos) and the Paris, BnF, Latin 1989(1) and 1989(2) (They both contain Enarrationes in Psalmos).
