In spite of the improvement in the the labour market dynamic, inequality and poverty indices reveal that the country is still going through a complex social situation.  The paper aims at analyzing income distribution and poverty Argentina, focusing on the consequences of the convertibility ending and the change of macroeconomic regime. These developments are analyzed in the light of more long term processes. The paper also presents microsimulation exercises to analyze the future evolution of poverty under different macroeconomic scenarios.
