Their structure was characterized by X-ray diffraction. Samples result partially crystalline with traces of Se and GeSe2. The magnetic behavior was characterized employing a SQUID magnetometer. DC magnetization was measured as a function of temperature and magnetic field from 5K to 300K. Witness Fe0.005 (GeSe2)0.995 and Fe0.005Se0.995 were also measured evidencing ferromagnetic behavior. The presence of Fe was utilized as a probe to study the short range order of the structure by means of Mössbauer spectroscopy and to corroborate the magnetic characterization.
