Resumen:
Epilepsy is associated with dramatic changes in synchro-nization activity during the entire process of seizure develop-ment. Recent ¯nding suggest that asynchronous activity ispresent at the ¯rst stage of the seizure initiation. We shallpresent here a methodological procedure to quantify the syn-chronous activity in the mesial area of temporal lobe epilepticpatients. By using elements from complex network theory andinformation tools we show that asynchornous activity seemsto be essential in favouring the appearance of clinical seizures. Our results are also contrasted with pseudo-seizure caused byusing a seizure inducer agent, as it is the etomidate. Our re-sults are import from the physician point of view allowing afast and clear lateralization of the epileptogenic hemisphere.Standard EEG and Foramen Ovale Electrodes has been usedfor the time series analysis.
