Resumen:
Ceramic monolithic Mn-Ce catalysts, with different Mn/Ce molar ratio were prepared by ultrasonic impregnation of aqueous precursor; and characterized by XRF, BET, H2-TPR, O2-TPD, XPS and OSC. The catalytic activity was evaluated in n-hexane oxidation. The Mn-Ce mixed catalyst, with an intermediate content of Ce, presented the same activity as Mn catalyst, but it was more stable under extreme conditions of reaction. Deactivation of Mn catalyst was associated with a transformation of unstable manganese oxides phases. While the stability of the Mn-Ce mixed catalyst was attributed to the strong interaction Mn-Ce, which could possibly occur through the formation of a solid solution.
