E-mail: giulizevallos@gmail.com; mhvazl@gmail.comAndrocoll?-E colloid centrifugation is the standard technique used to select good quality stallion sperm. Among other procedures, glass wool column filtration (GWCF) has been reported to select sperm from human, bull, boar, canine and buffalo bull semen. However, there are scarce reports on its use in equine semen. We have completed a study aimed at 1) evaluating the ability of GWCF to select high quality sperm suspensions from fresh (F) and frozen-thawed (FT) stallion semen, and 2) comparing results between GWCF and Androcoll?-E colloid centrifugation procedures. In all cases, percentage of total motile (TM), progressive motile (PM), morphologically normal (MN), osmotically-competent (HOST+), and acrosome-intact + osmotically-competent (AI/HOST+) sperm were assessed before and after selection procedures. In F samples (mean±SDM; n=12), percentage of MT (72.5±14.9), MP (43±22), MN (64±12), HOST+ (57±9) were higher (p
