A-hypergeometric systems of partial differentialequations (introduced by Gelfand, Kapranov and Zelevinsky) have natural geometric solutions, withsingularities on the associated (full) discriminant. We describe A-hypergeometricalgebraic Laurent series associated with Cayley configurations of n latticeconfigurations in n space. We show that these algebraic series are generated bycertain combinatorially defined sums of point residues, whose computation canbe interpreted in terms of a toric degeneration.
