Resumen:
Surveillance of bacterial resistance to antimicrobials 􀀊AT􀀯􀀋is recommended by 􀀹H􀀱 and 􀀱􀀫E to assess their progress andma􀁍e rational decisions for their control, against the severity ofthis phenomenon 􀁙orld􀁙ide. The aim of this study 􀁙as to analyzethe quantitative profile of antimicrobial susceptibility in staphylococciisolated from mastitic mil􀁍 of goats from the province ofCordoba, Argentina. S. aureus (n􀀟􀀗􀀔􀀋 and coagulase􀀏negativestaphylococci 􀀊C􀀰S􀀋 􀀊n􀀟􀀕􀀖􀀋 strains 􀁙ereisolated􀀝 minimum inhibitoryconcentration 􀀊􀀯􀀫C􀀋 of benzylpenicillin, cloxacillin, gentamicinand oxytetracycline against these strains 􀁙as determined by brothmicrodilution test (CLSI, 2013). Considering the clinical breakpoints􀀊CLS􀀫, 􀀔􀀒􀀓􀀕􀀋, a susceptibility of 􀀙􀀓􀀇, 􀀓􀀒􀀒􀀇 and 􀀗􀀒􀀇 for benzylpenicillin, gentamicin and oxytetracycline registered respectivelyagainst S. aureus, 􀁙hereas the corresponding against C􀀰S 􀁙ere􀀘􀀚􀀇, 􀀛􀀖􀀇, 􀀗􀀒􀀇. 􀀯oreover, ta􀁍ing into account the epidemiologicalcutoff values 􀀊EC􀀱FF􀀝 E􀀷CAST, 􀀔􀀒􀀓􀀘􀀋, a highest percentageof resistant strainsto oxytetracycline for both S. aureusand CNS􀀊􀀘􀀙􀀇 and 􀀗􀀘􀀇, respectively􀀋 􀁙as observed, 􀁙ith 􀀯􀀫C values t􀁙oand five times higher than those reported by the reference entity.􀀱n the other hand, theproportions of 􀁙ild type and resistant strainsfor cloxacillin and gentamicin are similar to the report by E􀀷CAST.The emergence of resistance for oxytetracycline in the region isconsistent 􀁙ith data from surveys conducted during the sampling,􀁙here treatments 􀁙ith AT􀀯 for both mastitis and otherdiseasesdo not follo􀁙 rational therapeutic regimens, and this is aggravatedby poor veterinary care in the area. 􀀫t is emphasized that the datareported in this study are the basis for monitoring of resistance ata regional level, as they are also useful for the determination ofrational dose regimens for the treatment of goat mastitis.
