Resumen:
The Andean common bean cultivar Jalo Pintado 2, resistant to races 2, 7, 9, 31, 65, 73, 95, 453 and 2047 of Colletotrichum lindemuthianum, was crossed with susceptible cultivar Cornell 49-242 (race 73), and also with resistant cultivars Michigan Dark Red Kidney, Corinthiano, Jalo Listras Pretas, Jalo Vermelho and Pitanga. The segregation ratio observed in F2 population from Jalo Pintado 2 × Cornell 49-242 cross was 3R:1S, demonstrating the presence of a single dominant gene in Jalo Pintado 2, conferring resistance to race 73. The allelism tests indicated that the gene in Jalo Pintado 2 is independent from those previously characterized.
