The objective of this paper, is show the thermaland energetic evaluation of a social housing in Santiago del Estero city, inArgentina, and the proposals for its thermal and energetic optimization. Theresults obtained were: 1) Location and climatic characterization of the studiedarea; 2) Bioclimatic Strategies and Paterns Determination; 3) Thermal andenergetic analysis of the prototype envelope; 4) Proposals for emproving thethermal and energetic performance of the prototype envelope; 5) Thermal andenergetic simulation of the prototypes: original and improved; 6) EnergyLabelling; 7) Comparation with normed values; 8) Conclusions. In relation toits scopes, this research has generated orienting guidelines and strategies forproper production of affordable housing in this province.
