?Pre-conditioning? strategies constitute a relatively unexplored and exciting opportunity to shape tumorfate. In this study we used hemin, an inducer of Heme Oxygenase-1 (HO-1), in an in vivo preconditioningmodel to assess prostate cancer (PCa) development. The stroma of immunocompetentC57BL/6 mice (n=5) was conditioned by subcutaneous administration of hemin prior to TRAMP-C1(murine PCa cell line TC1) tumor challenge.
