Beyond the Beverloo rule: Energy dissipation during silo discharge

Whether dry or as suspensions, granular materials, are involved in a variety of processes in the industry and in our daily life. Yet much of their behavior is still poorly understood. In this talk I will show how we can go beyond the Beverloo rule. Results of simulations and experiments for a silo forced discharges are analyzed through  the Energy dissipation during silo discharge.
