Resumen:
Silicon (Si) and tin (Sn) are interesting active material candidates to increase the energy density of the next generation of commercially available lithium-ion batteries. Both active materials suffer from high volume changes during charge and discharge. We investigate different theoretical considerations with regard to achievable energy density, capacity and volume expansion based on analytical equations for alloy-graphite blend electrodes.
