Resumen:
Some paleomagnetic poles from Lower Cretaceous basalts that crop out inthe Sierra de Los Cóndores (Córdoba) are anomalous respect to the EarlyCretaceous pole position for South America. A revision regarding the geologicalcontext of the paleomagnetic data from two paleopoles of the Sierra de Los Cóndoresis reported. The analysis reveals insufficient sampling of paleosecularvariation as the main cause of anomalous pole positions. A new paleopole forthe Sierra de Los Cóndores Lower Cretaceous basalts (Lat. 87.7°S, Long. 77.5°E,A95=7.7°) was obtained by combining the whole available spot-reading of the ancientmagnetic field.
