Resumen:
This poster aims at analyzing: i)personal and residential conditionsof older-adults in Spain, and ii) their residential satisfaction andassociated factors. Data source came from the Ageing in Spain Longitudinal Study, Pilot Survey ELES-PS (2011), a representative sample of community-dwelling people aged 50 years and older in Spain. Satisfaction with house of residence (SHR), as quality of life indicator of the residential environment, was the dependent variable and personal and residential variables were used as explaining variables. Descriptive analysis, one-way ANOVA using Bonferroni post-hoc comparison and correlation statistical techniques were applied.SHR reached 85.4%of scale maximum, and were positively correlated with the age of the individuals and house and building amenities. An inverse correlation was found with household size and with perceived problems and barriers to personal mobility within the house and the residential environment. Sex, marital status, housing tenure and housing type were significantly associated with SHR.Within the context of ageing at home, this study provides knowledge of personal and contextual conditions will lead in the establishment of policies to enhance residential satisfaction in quality of later life. As future research, the adequacy of residential settings and the individuals level of competence in health and functioning would be analyzed in order to identify factors that facilitate or inhibit aging at home with autonomy and independence.
