Resumen:
In this work we present a variable gain amplifier used for the programmable attenuation of measured signals of pixels in an optical encoder system. The amplifier uses switched capacitors technique and the attenuation is made through a bank of scaled capacitors. The value of the attenuation is set though a 6-bit word. The design was implemented on standard 0.5µm CMOS process. The linearity was characterized for different inputs and over the entire range of attenuation.
