I will present an overview of joint work with S.di Rocco, B. Nill, R. Piene, A. Rittatore, and M. Vergne on the description ofduals of toric varieties and the relation with the associated polytopes/latticeconfigurations. The interplay between algebraic geometry and combinatoricsallows us to prove algebro-geometric statements with combinatorial tools andcombinatorial statements with algebro-geometric tools.
