Resumen:
The San Guillermo-Laguna Brava landscape cobres 6,5 million hectares in South America. To develop a conservation plan for this sparsely populated area, the researchers studied tour species: the vicuña; the Darwin´s rhea; the Andean cat; and the pique, a bottom-dwelling native fish. For the last three years, this little-known area was explored and mapped , and several surveys were conducted to find out where the species lived. We plan to use this information to identify critical areas for each species where conservtion efforts should be focused and develop a management plan.
