Resumen:
Presentation outlineA. Experimental vertical total electron content (VTEC) maps computed by La Plata University using GPS signals for the South American sectorB. Weather and ClimateC. Derived meteorological information from LPIM GPS productsD. Analysis of statistical information: median, Qup, Qlow and variabilityFinal remarks• Although this is a first and preliminary attempt to derive climatological information from our model and only one year of data was use, this study shows:• Regarding median VTEC values:• The similar behaviour in both equinoxes for the morning• A clearer representation of the anomaly in March equinox, for the midday and afternoon• A quiet behaviour for all latitude in March nights• A minimum in June mid latitudes• Regarding VTEC dispersion:• The largest values in the anomaly, particularly during the equinox• The smallest values in mid latitudes, particularly in June• Regarding VTEC variability:• A sudden change in variability during the night
