Resumen:
An architectural approach to self-adaptive systems involvesruntime change of system configuration (i.e., the system?scomponents, their bindings and operational parameters) andbehaviour update (i.e., component orchestration). Thus, dynamicreconfiguration and discrete event control theory areat the heart of architectural adaptation. Although controllingconfiguration and behaviour at runtime has been discussedand applied to architectural adaptation, architecturesfor self-adaptive systems often compound these two aspectsreducing the potential for adaptability. In this paper wepropose a reference architecture that allows for coordinatedyet transparent and independent adaptation of system con-figuration and behaviour.
