Resumen:
Sustainability indicators let us visualize phenomena and highlight trends towards predifined goals. These indicators let us synthesize, qualify, quantify and communicate complex information in a simple manner that facilitates decision-making. Concerning heritage, Colonia de Sacramento Act of 1998 (ICOMOS-UNESCO) is one of the first documentation that promotes the identification of systems of indicators to monitor the historic cities. The indicators are also postulated as a way to continue according to the various patrimonial interests. In this frame, the entail is analized between the aims of heritage preservation, the concept of sustainability and its feasibility of measurement. For it there is explored a fragile patrimonial link, housing, within intermediate cities of the province of Buenos Aires in Argentina. The definition and application of qualitative indicators of sustainability is exposed by addressing an urban fragment of a mediterranean city, Tandil, through conducting surveys, key informant interviews and semi-structured polls of opinion.
