Resumen:
Introduction: The aim of this study was to describe and compare uterine blood flow in bitches suffering from cystic endometrial hyperplasia (CEH) and CEH-pyometra complex. Materials and methods: Eighty diestrous bitches were classified according to the clinical and ultrasonographic evaluation, as: -Pyometra group: bitches with clinical signs, leukocytosis (WBC>17,000 cells/ml), CEH and uterine luminal content (PYO, n=24); -CEH with luminal contents: asymptomatic bitches, normal WBC and CEH and uterine content (CEH-C, n=14); -CEH without luminal contents: asymptomatic bitches and normal WBC (CEH, n=15); -Normal diestrous bitches (ND, n=27). Peak systolic velocity (PSV) and end diastolic velocity (EDV) of uterine arteries were measured by Doppler ultrasound in all the bitches. Resistance index [RI=(PSV−EDV)/PSV] was automatically calculated. PSV, EDV and RI were analyzed by one way ANOVA followed by Tukey test. P
