Resumen:
Aerosol samples were collected at the Metropolitan Area of Buenos during two periods (winter and summer) for determining total, fine (PM2.5) and coarse (PM2.5-10) particles. They were analyzed by gravimetry, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE) using 16O ions at 50 MeV, Energy Dispersive Analysis X-ray (EDAX) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The aim was to investigate the total mass, metal and non-metal concentrations and mineralogical composition of bulk samples, besides morphology and elemental composition of individual particles. In addition, an exploratory study was carried out, in order to analyze the influence of the meteorological conditions, as well as to identify the possible source for the sampled aerosols.
