Resumen:
The Purísima-Rumicruz district is considered a five element deposit type, it is located in theproximity of the boundary between the Puna and Cordillera Oriental morphostructural units. It isconstituted by small polimetallic (Ag-As-Co-Cu-Ni) vein systems which cut the Ordovician shales ofthe Acoite Formation. Lead radiogenic isotope ratios of this mineralisation are contrasted with otherpolimetallic ore deposits, such as the nearby El Aguilar and Pumahuasi districts. The Purísima-Rumicruz district exhibits Pb isotope values which are interpreted as derived from the upper crust. The same provenance is considered for the Pumahuasi and the El Aguilar vein systems, probablyfrom the fertile shales of the Acoite Formation, even though the Purísima-Rumicruz andPumahuasi mineralisations were form later than El Aguilar deposits.
