Resumen:
The Al amorphous and nanostructured alloys have increased the performance technological application during the last years. As it is known, the mechanical properties are related with the structure of the alloy, and the latter depend on the chemical composition, the initial state and subsequent processes. Generally, the nanostructured alloys are produced from the crystallization of the amorphous samples. Therefore, the study of the interaction between the different elements have on the glass forming ability and in the short range order of the amorphous phase is very important, in order to understand the mechanical behaviour of these alloys. In a previous work [1] we have studied the glass forming ability related with strong association produced by the Fe in the Al-Fe-X alloys. In this work, we analyse the interaction between the component in the Al-Ni-X alloys. Rapid Solidified samples with Al87(Fe, Ni)10(MM, Nb)3 composition (at.% and MM=Mischmetal) were prepared by Melt Spinning technique. The structure was characterised by X ray diffraction with Cu-K radiation. The ductility was characterised by bending and the strength using Vickers microhardness. The results of the glass forming ability are discussed with the ?clustering effect? and the ?size effect?. The correlation between the structure and the mechanical behaviour are discussed within the ?homogeneous or heterogeneous amorphous concept?. [1] F. Audebert, B. Arcondo, D. Rodríguez and H. Sirkin.
