Elevated-Temperature Strength of a Melt-Spun Al90Fe5Mm5 Alloy

Al-Fe-MM (MM; mixture of Rare Earth) were produced by means of Melt Spinning. The amorphous samples in ribbon shape were tested at different temperature at tensile mode. It was observed a change in the stiffness and in the extension of the plastic strain in relation with the crystallisation. The stiffness decreases and the strain increase during the crystallisation of fcc-Al crystals in an amorphous matrix.
