Resumen:
The peak shape methods can be applied when a peak in the TL glow curve is well defined and resolved. Tocalculate the activation energy of the trapping level corresponding to a peak in a glow curve, one needs tomeasure three temperatures on the peak itself: the temperature at the maximum, TM, and the first andsecond half temperatures, T1 and T2, respectively on the ascending and descending parts of the peak at halfintensity. The formulae proposed for finding the activation energy usually include the following geometricalfactors: = TM - T1 the half width at the low temperature side of the peak, = T2 - TM the half widthtowards the falloff of the peak, = T2 - T1 the total half width (FWHM), is the symmetrical geometricalfactor. The present paper intends to present a review concerning the various peak shape methods allowingto determine the activation energy (E), related to the trapping centers in thermoluminescent crystals.
