Resumen:
The aim of this work is to present the design and construction of a customized reader for measuring theoptically stimulated luminescence (OSL) of mineral samples extracted from irradiated foodstuff. Dependingon the characteristics of the mineral this low-cost prototype offers the possibility to select appropriatestimulation wavelengths (from UV to IR). On the other hand, it features different light detectors in order tomatch the emission wavelength of the sample. Further, this prototype permits to use several sets of high -pass and band-pass filters in order to filter both the stimulation and emission light. The equipmentoperation is fully automated during both the irradiation and OSL reading by resorting to a LabView interface. The OSL reader allows measurements in continuous wave mode (CW OSL) and can be adapted to linearmodulation(LM OSL) or pulsed (POSL) mode.
