Resumen:
We show the preliminary results obtained in a statistical study about the mass/luminosity relation in the nearby Universe and the galaxy bias from observational data sets. The study is based in the use of observational peculiar velocity data to obtain mass. We use galaxy peculiar velocities by Giovanelli and Haynes, the Updated Zwicky Calatlog (UZC) galaxy catalog and several UZC galaxy mock catalogs. Projected peculiar velocities have been used to measure the infall amplitude for a spherically symmetric field. Mass overdensities have been estimated from the non-linear infall model. The cosmological parameters for a Lambda CDM universe have been asumed.
