Resumen:
The International Union of Pure and Applied Physics created the Working Group on Women in Physics in 1999 with the mandate of surveying the situation of women physicists and suggesting means to improve it. Since then, the Working Group has performed a variety of activities to fulfill its mandate. In this talk I will describe the activities that the Working Group has been doing and the experience that has been collected over the years. I will also describe some preliminary results of the Global Survey of Physicists which was carried out by the American Institute of Physics and which was responded by about 15,000 people from 130 countries. Finally, I will give some details on the next International Conference on Women in Physics that will take place in Canada in 2014.
