Resumen:
UTE Petroleos Sudamericanos- Necon process crude petroleum with high salinity and water content which must become a comercially adecuatte product avoiding corrosion in transport and storage. The present work evaluates the waste water of the explotiting area that impacts mainly on the Sauzalito river, affluent of San francisco river, in the north west of Argentina. It also evaluates the possible impact on the ecosystem. It was monitored six strategic points, in two periods of the year (wet and dry) taking into account the annual precipitation variation. For the design of the evaluation, six strategic point were aselected considering the river flow variation. during dry times the flow was three time less than  in wet times.Physical, chemical and biological characterizations were developed. DQO, salinity, phenol and total petroleum limit parameters would allow and adecuate waste water treatment, according the reglamentation. The waste water from  the Gravimetry separation pool reach the following alues 13,00 mg/l DQO, 0,230 mg/l phenol and 376 mg/l totaLL petrol the effect of these values is reduced in raining periods by dilution. This is due to the high flows of the river.
