Resumen:
The aim of this project is to record GCamp2 neuronal activity in the ventral tegmental area (VTA) of the rat. Current available methods to record uorescent neuronal activity fail to acquire precise information of deep structures in live animals´ brains. The solution we propose to this issue is the use of single-photon microscopy to record uorescence variations. Cell activity is monitored through intracellular-recording electrodes in order to control the likelihood of uorescent recordings. The benets of this technique rely on the convenience of taking full frame images that can be recorded, through suitable methods, by a CCD camera and the ability of fast-framed imaging.
