Resumen:
Anatase modified mesoporous SBA-16 and a titanium-substituted mesoporous SBA-16 molecular sieve were synthesized, characterized and tested in oxidative desulfurization (ODS) of dibenzothiophene prevailing in diesel fuel. Pure anatase was used as reference. The structural and textural properties of the titania based catalysts were characterized by chemical analysis and XRD, SEM-EDX and TEM. The ODS tests were carried out in a two-phase (L?S) system to evaluate the oxidation taking place in the liquid phase only. The reaction results indicate that the best catalytic performance is achieved with TiO2/SBA-16. The influence of catalyst concentration, initial DBT concentrations and reaction temperature on the oxidation of DBT was examined in detail. Kinetic constants and apparent activation energy of 44 Kj/mol were obtained.
