In this presentation, I want to give a general overview of the sistematization approach, signaling some of its mains streams of influence, its relationship with the world of evaluation and research, and some of its key characteristics. Building the evaluation field is not training nor is it technical transfer. It involves enabling several stakeholders (researchers and evaluation professionals among them) to build indigenous evaluation cultures and capabilities to contribute to improved decision-making. So this presentation is an answer to the invitation to build the evaluation field in the Global South, introducing a particular and endogenous evaluation approach.
