Resumen:
In this paper, I aim to demonstrate that Inkaic domination influenced and transformed the social life of Calchaquí Valley?s communities. Although this has been generally considered a marginal area of Tawantinsuyu, here I claim that Inka domination had a considerable impact on local culture and history. To support my points, I present two examples. First, I explain how the Inkas influenced North-Calchaquí communities? social structure and their ideas about agency. Second, I explore the aftermath of Inka times, demonstrating that Inka domination left an indelible mark on local practices and memory.
