This talk is a brief review of a proposal by R. Gopakumar to obtain the string theory dual of large N free gauge theories. We discuss the issue of localization in some four-point functions and the relation between the worldsheet and the spacetime operator product expansion in several examples.Published in AIP 1031 (2008) 83-93
