Resumen:
Welding of supermartensitic stainless steel (SMSS) plays a crucial role in some fabricated components, influencing their weldability, mechanical properties and resistance to sulphide stress cracking. Welding procedure has an important influence on the final characteristics of a deposit, as it can modify its chemical composition and properties. Post weld heat treatment adjusts the final properties, bearing on microstructural evolution. The objective of this work was to study the effect of shielding gas and post weld heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of SMSS all weld metal produced with a GMAW metal cored wire under shielding gas.
